Ignition
The ignition system in your Mercedes consists of many parts, including a distributor, ignition coils, and spark plugs. The ignition system creates voltage and then sends it to the spark plugs. The spark plugs then ignite the fuel/air mixture in the engine, which causes combustion. There are many possible symptoms associated with a failing ignition system. A properly functioning ignition is what contributes to the operation of your engine. Properly maintaining it will help your Mercedes to start efficiently and run at peak performance. Just like many other electrical components of your vehicle, the ignition is susceptible to wear and tear due to excessive use. Signs of a failing ignition system can present themselves in many ways. The most obvious sign of something being wrong is a difference in how your car starts up. It might take a lot more effort to get the engine to crank up after sticking the key in the ignition or pressing the start engine button. You might start to experience misfiring or drops in power. When you notice these problems with your ignition, you should be checking the condition of the parts to see if replacements need to be made. Make sure you're replacing these ignition parts with OEM components. Find the right ones for your Benz here on our site.
